This picture capture during this Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe wedding is one of my favourites. It is strikingly simple yet very powerful because of the sparklers technique employed in this shot.
During the wedding reception, I asked the bride and groom if they can spare a few minutes to create some gorgeous imagery. The graciously accepted and this is one of the photos I took then. In the shot, the groom slightly diffs the bride, and they almost kiss. On the right of the frame, perfectly balancing the couple I wrote the word "Love."
What makes this picture special? First, there is the romantic moment between the bride and groom. Although it was staged, because they love each other this wedding picture looks real. Second, the sparklers make this image shine. Yes, the pun is totally intended. Finally, I used an orange/tungsten video light that complements the blue light shining on the background.
This combination of complementary colours, blue and orange, is a classic one and creates a pleasing look. Many companies or brands use it in their designs. Among them, the most notable are VISA, Fanta, FedEx, Lufthansa, WordPress, Oilers, Firefox, the ING Group and many others.
As usually, the album finale is a stunning image that captures the essence of the wedding day in a visually unique fashion. Without false modesty I can say this is a world-class image.
