Grand Entrance at King Edward Hotel

Telling the complete story of the couple special day is very important for a Toronto wedding photographer. Some esteemed colleagues of mine disregard the importance of the ceremony. However, in my opinion, one has to make sure every single part of the big day captures the atmosphere and the people in a proper manner.

Generally, In Toronto, the grand entrance takes place around 7 PM. As a side note, as wedding photographer I don't like this because during the summer, one gets the best light after 7 PM. We are often forced to photograph around noon because we have to abide by the big day's timeline.

As usually, on this wedding day at King Edward Hotel the grand entrance took place at 7 PM sharp. The master of ceremonies announced the arrival of the newlyweds and the guests simply went crazy. The whole crystal ballroom started yelling and applauding at once. The MC also prompted them to pick up the napkins from the table and to waive at the bride and groom. This image reflects that exuberant moment when the newlyweds entered the Crystal Ballroom at King Edward Hotel.

The napkins flying in the air frame the couple and the guests gazes create virtual leading lines that directing the viewer's attention to the subject of the image.

The image has three layers: in the foreground we can see the guests. In the middle ground, the newlyweds smile and advance towards the dance floor. Finally, in the background we see one of the waiters smiling and looking at the bride and groom.
