Guests Taking Photos of the Newlyweds in the Crystal Ballroom

As a Toronto wedding photographer I learned in my career that the way to document such an important event is by shooting the action as well as the reaction. Let me elaborate here: most artists capture the action: the bride getting ready or walking down the aisle, the speeches during the reception and so on. However, that gives us a unilateral look at the big day. Ideally, the photographer tells a more complete story and also captures the reactions following the action.

The previous photograph captured during the reception in the Crystal Ballroom at King Edward Hotel depicted the entrance of the newlyweds. That was the action and this image shows the guests' reaction.

It is incredible how often in life with forget to enjoy the moments in pursuit of the perfect picture that will attract the next follower or the next like. A long time ago I learned that the best photos that one captures are in one's head. Think about it, this is very deep. For once, the better photographs are those we never see. Second, this quote urges us to live in the moment instead of hiding behind the cell phone screen especially the such beautiful wedding day.

Sadly, I guarantee that most guests did not take the time email the pictures to the newlywed couple. During my consultation with the bride and groom I always emphasize the importance of enjoying the wedding day and forgoing any concerns about the cake, catering and so on. After all, King Edward Hotel has a very capable staff in one doesn't need to worry about anything.
