One of the most defining attributes of this couple is love and love was apparent during their big day at King Edward Hotel. I captured this photograph during the photo shoot following the ceremony. At the beginning of my career as a wedding photographer, I would make the mistake of photographing the bride and groom first and finish the photo shoot with images of the bridal party surrounding the newlyweds. Unfortunately, we would encounter all kind of situations when the bridal party would interfere with my plans. It is very hard for the groom to be romantic when the groomsmen make fun of him. As such, I currently start the photo shoot by taking a few images of the wedding party. I call them the serious, the funny, and the sexy photographs. Another set of pictures is the groom surrounded by the bridesmaids and the bride surrounded by the groomsmen. Also I made sure I photograph each bridesmaid with the bride in each groomsmen with the groom.
All the above combinations take me about 15 minutes to capture. After that, I suggest that the bridal party returns to the event space so that they can help with the declarations or any last-minute changes in the banquet hall. Also, in case of a receiving line, the bridal party is instrumental in receiving the guests before the bride and groom arrive. More important, especially the groomsmen love me for letting them off the hook on the wedding day so they can return to the banquet hall and enjoy a drink or two instead of sweating in their three-piece tuxedos on a hot summer day.
This particular photograph depicts the groom kissing the bride's hand and looking at each other. It was taken after the ceremony that took place in the Crystal Ballroom at King Eddie. The picture looks like a scene from a love story movie and the newlyweds appeared to be celebrities.
